After moving to Wicklow in 2019 and after quite a long break from painting (all my equipment was in storage plus the move took longer than expected) I set up a studio and started to work again.
Having moved from the city to a rural environment the change in my work has been very noticeable.
A change in palette from cool subtle blues to vivid greens, a change in texture from smooth glassy surfaces to a highly textured style using lots of paint, from big skies to lush woodland and tall trees.
The space in my new studio has allowed me to work on several large canvasses at the same time which is good as more paint requires more drying time!
The countryside around me and the changing seasons supply me with plenty of subject matter and inspiration.
Thanks Paul
Current work is stunning.
